Online Discussion Post Writing Help

Recently I started an online subject where weekly discussion posts are part of the final grade, and I did not expect them to be this demanding. Each post has to follow a specific format, and sometimes it must be a critique, other times a reflection or even a proposal. I noticed that simply sharing my opinion is not enough because the lecturer expects structured arguments and clear reasoning. There are also instructions about addressing certain questions and connecting ideas logically. On top of that, originality checks are applied, which makes me double check everything I write. I often spend more time organizing the response than actually writing it. Has anyone figured out how to approach academic discussion post writing in a more structured way?

I had a similar experience because discussion posts may seem short, but they still follow an academic structure. I began to look more closely at how informative, comparative, summary, and exploratory posts are organized. Later I read https://ozessay.com.au/discussion-post/, where different formats of academic discussion posts are outlined and the writing process is explained step by step. It mentions that texts are prepared according to instructions, checked for plagiarism before delivery, and include communication during the process, as well as revisions within a set timeframe. After reviewing that information, I understood more clearly how structured discussion post preparation should look and felt more confident participating in online academic discussions.👍😀👍
