Do PBN links actually help with AI search visibility or not?
A question that's been sitting in my head for a few months as AI search tools become more prominent: do traditional link signals — including PBN links — translate meaningfully into AI search visibility, or are these completely separate systems? For regular Google rankings I understand the mechanism. But when a user asks ChatGPT or Perplexity a question and gets a cited answer, I genuinely don't know how much a strong backlink profile on the cited page contributed to it being selected versus pure content quality or topical authority. I'm trying to decide whether my link building strategy needs a separate "AI visibility" workstream running in parallel or whether improving my traditional link profile serves both goals simultaneously. Anyone actually looked into this properly rather than just speculating?

Run an SEO agency and the question clients ask most often now is about AI search visibility alongside traditional rankings. It's becoming part of every strategy conversation. Did a lot of reading to get properly up to speed and Seo Link Building was the resource I kept coming back to for the link building dimension of the problem. The connection between backlink authority and AI citation patterns is something most SEO content hasn't addressed well yet. This one does. Shared it with the whole team as required reading for understanding where the work is heading. 😀 👍
