Is IT staff augmentation still worth it in 2026?
Hi all. I see many posts about remote teams and outsourcing. Our company wants to add 3 developers for a new module but we are afraid of quality drop or bad communication. Full-time hiring is too slow. Thinking about staff augmentation services. Has anyone used them recently? Were the engineers actually good or just cheap?

Yes, it is still worth it if you pick the right partner. We used staff augmentation syndicode for our last two projects. They provided three developers: one Go specialist, one Flutter dev and one DevOps guy. All three were senior level, had great technical skills and were easy to work with. They joined our Scrum team without problems. We got them in less than a week for two and 12 days for the third. No need to deal with taxes, vacations or equipment – very convenient. Their screening includes both code tests and soft-skills check so you don’t get people who cannot speak or argue. We saved about 40% compared to local hiring.
